SMSgt (Ret) Doug Berry
A.W. “Doug” Berry, 86, died on June 16, 2016. He was born in Jasper, Texas on May 7, 1930 to William and Annie Berry in Old Bloc community.
Survivors also include wife, Judy Berry of Ozark; children, Debbie Berry of Booneville, Dennis Berry of Moore, Okla., Mark Berry of Ozark, Kimberly Brackins of Searcy, Sherri Charles of Dardanelle, and Richard Berry of Conway; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Hollyfield.
He worked as a hod carrier, pulpwood cutter, and tire wrangler. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. His military career spanned 22 years, 8 months, and 8 days and he reached the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked at Wolverine Toy/Today’s Kids Toy Manufacturing plant in Booneville.
A private family graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, at Fort Smith National Cemetery, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
The family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 20 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark.
